Cradle the Earth

We were asked to produce a short video that reflects UNDP Sudan’s positioning within renewable energy, highlighting the importance of renewable energy and the impact if we do not develop & increase the usage of renewable sources of energy. The video was also UNDP Sudan’s official entry/contribution to the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP27 2022 in Egypt.

We created a concept that centred around the idea that that only when we consider ourselves a part of nature is when we can truly help nature, and that there is a personal responsibility that we all have as inhabitants of our planet in ensuring that we leave behind a better earth for future generations.

This resulted in an audio-sensory conceptual video “Cradle the Earth - for it has cradled generations”, with straight to the point messaging, yet still thought- provoking. By taking the viewer on a journey on how we turn a blind eye to daily habits that endangers our environment, such as littering our streets and our sewage systems. The video served as a call to action for us to become less passive, and take more action in our daily lives and that there are more sustainable solutions (other natural renewable energy sources) that can contribute to more sustainable living.

When UNDP Sudan shared the final video with UNDP HQ/Global, they were so impressed that they decided that the video was not only going to be pushed on UNDP Sudan’s social media channels, but also on UNDP’s global and regional channels, a first for UNDP Sudan. The video was also screened on stage at COP27 during UNDP hour. It currently has over 20,000 combined views and has reached over 27,000 instagram accounts.
